Making the weekly Throwback Thursday all about fat-bike history was a great idea if you ask me! I don’t know about you but I like checking in on stuff that happened at the beginning of the fat-bike craze! Heck, Fat-bike.com was there! Reliving the “good ol’ days” while writing these columns is cathartic!
Check out that photo of Colin and the Pugsly World Champion axe at the Milwaukee Messenger Invitational in 2012! Coincidentally, the 2025 edition of The Milwaukee Messenger Invitational is happening this weekend so you get both current news and a blast from the past!
This Week in Fatbike History
The following links are from the Weekly Dose of Fat published on 4-20-12! (4/20 Dude!) Yes, they all still work. Amazing to see what was happening back then and that posts from 13 years ago are still available on the web!
This week’s links from the original post are a bit thinner. There were quite a few that have been moved or discontinued. Here are a couple that the content has been changed or moved.

The Best years of my life 2012-2013. I was so full of passion and drive yet unbenounced by others I was intending on ending my existence on 12/31/2013. My Fat Bike saved me! Fat-Bike.com Saved me! This community saved me. Stay tuned for the full story. Cheers – M
So fun and rewarding working with you in the heydays of fat-biking! Look back to the videos we did back then. They are still archived on YouTube. Great stuff!
