Global Fat-bike Day at Santa Cycle Rampage MKE

The Wisconsin BikeFed bills Santa Cycle Rampage as The world’s largest holiday themed costume bike ride for charity. The ride raises critical dollars to support the BikeFed’s education programs in Milwaukee.

With the warm weather on Saturday, December 7th, this year’s approximately 12 mile slow rolling holiday party on wheels was attended by 2000-plus Santas, Mrs. Claus, reindeer, grinch, snowmen, elves, dreidels and more.

Sven, JK and Tony did their own version of the ride hitting the main group a couple of times while visiting a few favorite spots along the way. The really great this about Santa Cycle Rampage in Milwaukee is that all day long there are groups of riders all over town spreading Holiday Spirit and reminding folks that cycling is a year-round activity in Milwaukee. If memory serves, our ride looked something like this:

Cafe Hollander on Downer

  • Nomad World Pub
  • Regano’s Roman Coin
  • Lakefront Brewery
  • Duke’s on Water
  • Conejitos Place (food stop)
  • Great Lake’s Distillery
  • Boone and Crocket
  • Sabbatic
  • The Palapa at Milwaukee Public Market
  • Monica’s on Astor
  • Bremen Cafe
  • Amorphic Beer
  • The Back Room at Create Moto

As Reader’s of this site already know, the first Saturday in December is also Global Fat-bike Day! There were certainly fat-bikers on the ride and I snapped a few pix of the bikes and the riders.
